NEOPOLITAN THIN CRUST
Vezzo
How thin are we talking? Razor-thin. Paper-thin. Cracker-thin. It’s crispy, too, with a subtle marinara that will transport you to Naples’ Piazza Dante. There, there’s almost always a wait at this casual, neighborhood pizzeria (one of a group of eateries around the city owned by restaurateur Antonio Gomez), but worth it.

THE DANNY MEYER
Marta
He’s mastered haute American and burgers and hot dogs. How could Mr. Restaurant go wrong with his pizza? He couldn’t, and he didn’t. The pies at Marta are everything they should be: wood-fired, crispy, with tangy tomato sauce and pillows of mozzarella. Scoring a table can be tough (the restaurant is in the Martha Washington Hotel), but there is a first-come, first-serve bar and pizza counter.
