What’s a girl to wear this fall? Designers look to the waterfront for inspiration
Call it naval-gazing. We’re obsessed with all the seafarers of the East River, past and present, from the shipbuilders of yore in the Brooklyn Navy Yard to today’s commercial divers and no-nonsense ferry captains around the New York Harbor marinas. Clearly, we’re not alone. Fashionistas this fall are keeping on trend with peacoats, sailor pants, anchor sweaters and more naval-themed looks. Among the designers who launched the look for fall: Tibi, Frame Denim and of course fashion’s dynamic duo, Tommy Hilfiger and supermodel Gigi Hadid. Sail on!
